Music TeleVision Southeast Asia is the MTV franchise being shown in the Southeastern region of Asia, including, but not limited to, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore, and Malaysia, often broadcasting through different, but locally big live TV networks.
The MTV Network line is under the license of Viacom Inc., locally supervised by MTV Networks Asia Pacific.
The live TV entertainment channel started itn 1992 as a joint venture between Star TV and Viacom and has been expanding and innovating since then.
Star TV’s contract with MTV Live TV expired last 1994, leaving Viacom exclusive rights to the broadcasting company.
Local versions of MTV Southeast Asia Live TV often feature shows in the English language and the country's respective languages.
MTV Live TV Vietnam is the youngest of all MTV Southeast Asia Live TV versions, launched only last 2011. It locally airs in a maximum 24 hours a day.
It is currently operating at least three international Video Jockeys.
