Help and FAQ

This help page answers the most common questions about using TVOPEDIA to find and watch live TV channels. If your question is not covered here, email us at [email protected].

Finding channels

How do I find a channel?

Use the search box to look for a channel by name, or browse the directory. You can list channels by country, by category or by language. Channels in the United States are also grouped by state, for example channels from New York. The full channel list shows everything in one place.

What is “Channels from your country”?

On the home page we try to show channels from the country you are in. The country is worked out in your browser from your time zone, or from the country information our network provider (Cloudflare) adds to the request. It is remembered in your browser only and is not stored on our server. If the guess is wrong, browse the country you want from the countries page.

What does “Most watched right now” mean?

It lists the channels whose pages have had the most views recently on TVOPEDIA. It is based on a simple page view counter, not on the broadcasters’ own audience figures.

Watching channels

A channel won’t play. Why?

We do not run the streams ourselves, so playback depends on the broadcaster. The usual reasons are:

  • Geo-blocking: many broadcasters only allow viewing from certain countries because of rights agreements. The player may show an error or a message that the content is unavailable in your region.
  • Broadcaster schedule: some channels stream only part of the day, pause the stream for certain programs (often sports or films), or replace it with a slate.
  • Official site changes: broadcasters sometimes move their live page, start a new YouTube live stream or end the stream. The old link or player then stops working until we update it.

Try reloading the page, opening the official link on the channel page, or trying again later. If it still fails, please report it.

Why do some channels open on another website?

We only embed a player when the broadcaster offers an official embeddable stream. Otherwise, the channel page links to the broadcaster’s official live page, where you can watch it directly.

Reporting problems

How do I report a broken link?

Every channel page has a “report a broken link” option. Choose the problem, add a short note if you like, and send it. You can send one report per channel per day. We review reports and fix or remove listings that no longer work.

How do I suggest a new channel?

See how to suggest a station. We only list channels with an official, legal live stream.

Saving channels

How do I save channels to My channels?

Use the save button on a channel to add it to My channels. Your list is stored only in your own browser, so no account is needed. It will not follow you to another browser or device, and clearing your browser’s site data will remove it.

Accessibility

Is there an accessibility menu?

Yes. Every page has an accessibility button that opens a menu where you can change text size, contrast, link highlighting and other display settings. More details are in our accessibility statement.
