This privacy policy explains what information TVOPEDIA (tvopedia.com) handles when you use the site, why, and what choices you have. TVOPEDIA is operated from Israel. We have designed the site to collect as little as possible: there are no user accounts, no comments and no newsletter, and we do not sell personal data.
Information stored in your browser
Some features save small pieces of information in your own browser using local storage. This information stays on your device and is not sent to our server:
- My channels: the list of channels you save, so you can find them again.
- Your country: the country used for “Channels from your country” on the home page. It is worked out from your browser’s time zone or from country information provided by Cloudflare, and remembered in your browser only.
- Seen markers: a note that you have already viewed a channel page recently, so the same visit is not counted twice by the view counter.
You can delete this information at any time by clearing the site data for tvopedia.com in your browser settings. Doing so will also clear your My channels list.
Broken-link reports
When you report a broken link, we receive the channel, the problem you chose and any note you write. To limit reports to one per visitor per channel per day, we create a salted hash of your IP address and keep it only temporarily. We do not store your IP address itself. Please do not include personal information in the note.
View counter
A simple counter records channel page views so we can sort channels by popularity, for example in “Most watched right now”. For de-duplication it uses a temporary salted hash of your IP address, never the IP address itself. With your consent we also use Google Analytics, described below.
Google Analytics
If you accept statistics cookies in our consent banner, we use Google Analytics to measure visits, popular pages and general information such as country, device and browser. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store full IP addresses. We use these reports only to improve the site. If you deny statistics cookies, Google Analytics is not loaded. Google processes this data under its own privacy policy.
Server logs and hosting
Like most websites, our hosting provider automatically records standard server logs, which may include your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time of the request. These logs are used to run the site, keep it secure and fix problems, and are kept for a limited time under the host’s practices.
Cloudflare
The site is served through Cloudflare, which provides security and content delivery. Cloudflare processes connection data, such as your IP address, to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse, and may set strictly necessary security cookies. Cloudflare handles this data under its own privacy policy.
Your consent choices
We use the Complianz consent tool to ask for your permission before optional cookies, statistics and embedded players from other companies are loaded. Your choice is saved in your browser, and you can change it at any time from our cookie statement or the consent tab at the bottom of every page.
Advertising (Google AdSense)
TVOPEDIA shows ads from Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies to serve and measure ads, and, where you allow it, to show personalised ads based on your visits to this and other sites. For visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, Google’s certified consent message asks for your choice before such cookies are used, and you can change your choice later. Embedded players and external links
When a channel page shows an official embedded player, nothing is loaded from the provider until you press play. The player is served by the broadcaster or the platform it uses, such as YouTube, Dailymotion, Vimeo or Twitch. When you play it, that provider may set its own cookies and collect data under its own privacy policy. The same applies when you follow a link to a broadcaster’s website. We do not control these third parties.
Contacting us
If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you write, and use it only to reply and handle your request. We keep such messages only as long as needed.
How we share information
We do not sell or rent personal data. Information is processed by the service providers named above (our hosting provider, Cloudflare and Google, including Google Analytics and Google AdSense) to run the site and show ads, and may be disclosed if required by law.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask for access to, correction of or deletion of personal data we hold about you, and to object to certain processing. Because we keep very little, in most cases the only data is in your own browser, which you can clear yourself. For any request, email [email protected] and we will reply as soon as we can. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
TVOPEDIA is a general-audience site and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy when the site or the law changes. The date at the top shows the latest version. See also our terms of service and the help page.
