About FTV (Formosa Television)
FTV, known in Chinese as Minshi (民視), is Formosa Television, one of Taiwan's main terrestrial broadcasters, based in Taipei. It started broadcasting in 1997 as Taiwan's fourth terrestrial television network. The main channel carries news bulletins, current affairs, long-running local drama series, variety shows and entertainment, with a strong emphasis on Taiwanese Hokkien alongside Mandarin.
The company also operates cable channels including FTV News, FTV Taiwan, FTV Drama, FTV Variety and FTV Travel. Viewers can watch the main channel live through the player on the official FTV website, which offers a selector for each FTV channel, and FTV News runs its own round-the-clock YouTube stream. Some streams may be limited to viewers in Taiwan.
