About RT
RT, originally launched as Russia Today, is an English-language international news channel funded by the Russian state and operated by the autonomous non-profit organisation TV-Novosti in Moscow. It broadcasts rolling news bulletins, interviews, debate and current-affairs programmes and documentaries presenting world events from a Russian government perspective. The network also runs sister services in Arabic, Spanish and other languages.
Its English channel is streamed live on the official on-air page of rt.com, where the current feed can be watched in a browser. RT's YouTube channels were removed by YouTube in 2022, and the channel is banned or restricted by regulators in the European Union, the United Kingdom, Canada and other countries, so access depends on where the viewer is located. Media regulators and researchers have frequently described the outlet as a state propaganda broadcaster.
