About U TV

U TV, often written UTV, is a Romanian music television channel based in Bucharest. It was launched in 2005 by Sorana Urdareanu, daughter of the UTI Grup owner, and has been owned since May 2011 by the RCS and RDS group, now Digi, which also runs Music Channel and H!T Music Channel.

The channel focuses on new and recent Romanian and international music, mostly dance, club and pop hits, aimed at viewers aged 18 to 35, and is also widely played in clubs, bars and restaurants. Its schedule includes VJ-hosted shows and music video blocks. U TV is carried in SD by Romanian cable and satellite operators, in HD on Digi, and by some operators in Moldova, Spain and Portugal. The website utv.ro is now an entertainment news portal and does not offer a free live stream.
