About Russia-24

Russia-24 (Rossiya 24) is a Russian-language 24-hour news channel owned by the state broadcaster VGTRK and based in Moscow. It launched on 1 July 2006 under the name Vesti and was renamed on 1 January 2010 as part of a rebranding of VGTRK's channels. The schedule consists of rolling news bulletins, business and economic reports, interviews, analytical programmes and coverage of regional events, with regular inserts from VGTRK's network of regional stations.

Its sister channels include Russia-1, Russia-K, Carousel and the international service RTR-Planeta. The live broadcast is available free of charge on VGTRK's official streaming platform Smotrim, while news articles and video reports are published on vesti.ru. The channel is also carried by satellite, cable and IPTV operators across Russia.
