About Parliament TV

Parliament TV is the television channel of the New Zealand House of Representatives. Funded by the House, it carries full and unedited coverage of parliamentary proceedings, including Question Time, debates on bills and other sittings of the House in Wellington, when Parliament is in session.

Sittings normally take place on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons, with evening sessions on some days and longer hours when the House sits under urgency. The channel is broadcast on Freeview channel 31 and Sky channel 86. Proceedings are mostly in English, with some speeches in te reo Maori. Parliament streams the House live and on demand through its official video site at videos.parliament.nz, which also holds an archive of past sittings.
