About Shine TV
Shine TV is a Christian television channel in New Zealand operated by Rhema Media, the organisation behind several Christian radio networks in the country. It started in Christchurch in 1997 as Freedom TV and relaunched as Shine TV in 2002, later expanding nationwide.
The channel broadcasts around the clock on Freeview channel 25 and carries a mix of locally produced and international programmes, including teaching, documentaries, music, youth and children's shows, family content and Christian news. Its stated focus is on Christian values and family audiences. Shine TV offers an official live stream through the Watch Live section of its website, which is available only to viewers in New Zealand, and many of its programmes can be watched on demand after free registration.
